The Department of Apparel Merchandising and Interior Design (AMID) held its spring 2014 senior graduation celebration in the Cyberinfrastructure Building (CIB) at IU Bloomington. AMID faculty worked with AVL staff to develop media showcasing dozens of AMID student designs and work using the IQ-Wall and Science on a Sphere (SOS) displays.

Ultra-resolution displays (i.e.: AVL’s 24-tile IQ-Wall) are ideal for showing many designs simultaneously in amazing detail and clarity. Non-traditional, spherical displays (i.e.: AVL’s Science on a Sphere) offer innovative and alternative ways to present designs while generating interest and buzz among visitors and guests. Highlighting current AMID work using the advanced capabilities of the AVL facilities at the CIB can inspire future AMID faculty and students.

The half-day event was held in the CIB on the morning of May 10. More than 200 people attended.

IU's Advanced Visualization Lab is funded through the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology; is a unit of UITS Research Technologies; and is affiliated with the Pervasive Technology Institute. For questions about this project or to request a consultation, please contact
