Staff from the UITS Advanced Visualization Lab co-hosted the Large Scale Visualization track at the Missouri University of Science and Technology's 2014 Research and Technology Development conference. The event featured AVL staff providing technical workshops and presentations as well as live demonstrations using data from Indiana and Missouri. The track was co-hosted by staff from the Texas Advanced Computing Center and featured a mix of scientific visualization content, advanced media, and engaging interfaces.

This event offered the local Missouri community and visitors from the region a chance to talk with visualization experts and test and discuss the some of the latest visual technologies. For example, prior to the conference, IU staff had assisted MST staff with building and configuring their first IQ-Wall (in a 3x3 configuration). Then, for the conference, IU and MST staff collaboratively demonstrated (for the first time) original ultra-resolution images of St. Louis using the IQ-Wall.

The event was held September 15-16, 2014 in Rolla, MO. Sponsors included Dell, HP, Mellanox, Supermicro, and Omnibond as well as numerous institutions. Visitors representing more than a dozen states attended the event.

IU's Advanced Visualization Lab is funded through the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology; is a unit of UITS Research Technologies; and is affiliated with the Pervasive Technology Institute. For questions about this project or to request a consultation, please contact
